Over UAH 6.5 million for family-type children’s homes from Credit Agricole within the project "Home for children" by "Tvoya opora" and Katia Osadcha

29 March 2024

Credit Agricole Group together with the Ukrainian bank have allocated over UAH 6.5 million for the purchase of 2 houses for large families that lost their homes due to the war. This charitable initiative has been implemented by the bank as part of “A Home for Children” project, founded by TV presenter Kateryna Osadcha and “Your Support” charitable foundation. Now, around 300 large families are homeless because of the war. The Rodnykh family from the city of Bereslav of Kherson region are among such families.

“We learned that we lost our house in 2023. Our neighbours called us to let us know that a grenade explosion destroyed our home to the ground. Today our family received the gift of not only a home, but the second chance at life in peace. This house is exactly what we dreamed of, what we wanted», - shares Natalia Rodnykh.

To help those affected by the war, in May 2023, to mark its 30th anniversary Credit Agricole announced a fund raiser to collect money for the family-type home. The bank was able to collect UAH 113,000 in a month. Credit Agricole Ukraine allocated UAH 3 million to buy a house. This way the Rodnykh family got a new cosy home. The family currently has 9 children, but the mom is planning to take on the custody of one more girl. The philanthropists have recently paid a visit to the Rodnykh family.

“It is a real gift to be here with children and their strong mom. For us at Credit Agricole it was very important to help this large family and buy the house for the family to live in. We are extremely proud to have become a part of this story of kindness. It is our social responsibility”, - says Carlos de Cordoue, Chairman of the Management Board at Credit Agricole.

The international Credit Agricole Group also joined in on the charitable initiative “A Home for Children” and allocated over UAH 3 million to buy a house for another large family.

“We make it a priority to ensure that the family is comfortable. It is important that house we buy for the family have all the necessities. Meaning, even though it is a secondary market house, no repairs or works need to be done, it is fully furnished. A family can simply move in and live in their abode”- comments Valeriia Tatarchuk, Founder of “Your Support” Charitable Foundation

“We set a goal to buy as many houses as possible so that as many families as possible had accommodation and the sense of security” - adds Katia Osadcha, TV presenter, founder of “A Home for Children” project.

Since 2016, a powerful corporate social responsibility program “We care!” has been active at the bank. It encompasses four areas: charity, volunteering, environmental initiatives and care for employees.
