By and large, it is planned to restore 14 fields in 12 cities of Ukraine within the framework of the «Pass the ball» all-Ukrainian social initiative
On July 11, a renovated football field at 142 Traktorobudivnykiv str. in Kharkiv was presented. The site was restored jointly by Credit Agricole Bank and Mastercard within the framework of the «Pass the ball» all-Ukrainian social initiative. The field has an area of 924 m2 and is open to everyone. During the reconstruction, the foundation of the field was replaced, artificial grass was put on the field, and new fences were installed as well as the sports equipment that meets the international requirements to mini-football.
«Supporting social initiatives is an important part of our bank's "We Care!" CSR strategy. We aspire to care for the employees, engage in charity and volunteering, take care of the environment and support social initiatives. Credit Agricole is a sports-oriented bank: we have our own football, volleyball teams, hold an annual cycle race, and so leading an active healthy lifestyle is important to us. I am glad that thanks to our efforts, a modern football field came into being in Kharkiv so that young people and adults can exercise there now. Maybe it is here that new football legends will appear», - Galyna Zhukova, Board Member in charge of retail, network and digital of Credit Agricole Bank, commented.
«We are happy to see how our faith in the unifying power of football is embodied in real projects that are already changing the life of local communities for the better. We hope that the restored field in Kharkiv will become the center of sports leisure for young and adult residents of the city and will serve the local community for many years ahead,» – Tetiana Lutsenko, marketing programs manager of Mastercard in Ukraine, said.
Altogether, the project involves reconstruction of 14 football fields in 12 cities: Brovary, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv. Representatives of Masterсard, Credit Agricole Bank and a local football representative opened the site in Kharkiv. First, a friendly match between the representatives of Credit Agricole Bank took place on the restored field.
A research by Masterсard has revealed the following: 48% of Ukrainians are convinced that football unites friends and helps to meet new people. 43% of respondents call football a way to relax and relieve stress, and 17% has played this game since childhood. 84% of the surveyed Ukrainians said that the restoration of sports grounds for amateur football will not only increase interest in the game, but will also have a positive impact on the local community.
