Organic and digital – banking from French Credit Agricole

About banking in the new reality 

We have accepted the new reality quickly, become more agile and, as a result, more efficient. Just in three weeks since the onset of the crisis, Credit Agricole has rearranged its processes – we combined remote work with live communication with customers, without which it is impossible to understand markets’ needs and build successful cooperation.

The crisis did not affect the bank’s strategy, but accelerated its implementation. We are for a long haul here, in Ukraine. We want to build innovative banking and contribute to the development of economy and society, and seek to be a reliable partner, especially in a challenging time, for both corporate and private customers. We also strive to strengthen our presence on key markets such as agri agro, international companies, car lending and premium banking. 

We are the oldest foreign bank in Ukraine with perfect reputation. Over these 28 years, we went through every “storm” successfully and with positive financial result. Our strengths are specific expertise and well-balanced business model, which is focused on selected customer segments. We pay a great deal of attention to compliance and credit risk policy, we know the market well, and do not choose the approach of aggressive development with high risks. We aim for organic growth.

About digital, leasing and cashback for business 

Our customer relations principle is to determine needs of the business and offer a solution. That is how the idea of financial leasing to legal entities was born. While being a common story in Europe, this product has just started gaining in popularity in Ukraine. We launched it during the crisis and already have a multimillion portfolio. As of now, we offer financial leasing only for corporate vehicles and agricultural machinery, but plan to expand the offer. 

This project is a package offer: it includes registration and insurance of machinery, and now it’s also an opportunity to get cashback – compensation of 10% of leasing item value, thanks to our EUR 25M worth partnership program with EBRD. EBRD helps to facilitate access to financing and reduce debt load on medium, by EU standards, companies. 

We invest heavily in digital solutions. Last summer, we launched mobile application СА+ for private clients, which is now among TOP 3 on the market with more than 100,000 users. Next in line is web application СА+ Pro. It will be interesting especially for private entrepreneurs from IT sector. We are planning to launch it in the 3rd quarter 2021.

About agro as the bank’s DNA

Agricultural sector is a key sector for Credit Agricole, which we have been developing for more than 10 years now. We have powerful agro expertise and our own Agri School, as well as partnership programs that allow decreasing costs significantly at certain stages. We have analysts who constantly monitor market situation. When we see that customers have any troubles, we lend them our shoulder to lean on. During the last year’s drought, we offered our support to customers so that they could save their businesses. We want them to know that they can always rely on Credit Agricole.

About land market

Land market of Credit Agricole Ukraine agro customers is nearly 10% of total land bank of the country. Needless to say that we became active participants in development of the land market law. Now we are getting prepared to the land market launch, creating banking solutions and finalizing products.  We do not expect buying and selling of assets to start immediately, the process will be unfolding rather gradually. Beyond that point, we will be monitoring the situation and adapting our products to customers’ needs. Definitely, we will always be where our customers need us.
