Medical equipment worth almost UAH 500 000 for a children's hospital in Chernihiv

13 March 2025

Credit Agricole donated state-of-the-art medical equipment, namely a gurney for transporting patients and three dual syringe infusion pumps, worth a total of almost UAH 500 000 for the Municipal non-profit enterprise Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital of Chernihiv Regional Council. This is the bank's charitable contribution to a joint project aimed at supporting hospitals in the Chernihiv region within the French business initiative dedicated to Bastille Day.

Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital of Chernihiv Regional Council is a multidisciplinary hospital that provides medical services to children under 18. It is the only hospital within the network of medical institutions in the region that provides highly specialized medical care for children.

The hospital has 345 beds, 150 of which are of the surgical profile, 14 departments of various specialties, as well as a consultative polyclinic where outpatient appointments are held within 29 medical specialties. Every day, 220-230 children with various diseases are admitted to the hospital, and 98 doctors of various specialties work there. The doctors have only one mission ‒ to save lives under any circumstances.

They also note that the new equipment will give a chance at life to even more babies. Specifically, dual syringe infusion pumps are vital for a child who needs continuous and supervised intake of medications.

“Unfortunately, the number of children who need intensive care is constantly growing. Only over the past year, 56 272 outpatient consultations were provided for children in the Chernihiv region, 11 816 children received inpatient treatment, 3 101 of which underwent surgery, and most of them had severe pathologies that required prolonged intensive care treatment. In particular, continuous and ultra-precise administration of medications, anesthetics, and means to support systemically important organs. New dual syringe infusion pumps enable simultaneous administration of multiple drugs with precise speed control, which is crucial for stabilizing children's state, giving children a better chance of recovery even in the most difficult cases," says Olha Balan, head of the anesthesiology department with intensive care beds at the Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital.

The gurney for transporting patients between departments and to the operating room is also among the donated medical equipment. Since the beginning of the war, Credit Agricole has allocated UAH 150 million to charity, in particular to help hospitals.

We understand how important it is to provide hospitals with state-of-the-art equipment, because here every minute is crucial for saving lives. For Credit Agricole, it is essential to contribute to the restoration of the nation. We do hope that due to this charitable project, the doctors of the Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital will be able to save even more little lives,” comments Mykola Tsaryk , Head of the Regional Department at Credit Agricole Bank in Chernihiv.
