Credit Agricole joins the Ukrainian field crop tour “Agro Expedition Milk 2026”

03 August 2026

Credit Agricole has traditionally partnered with the annual Ukrainian field crop tour AgroExpedition Milk 2026 by Latifundist Media. The tour has been in place since 2013, and this year will be held from Aug. 3 to Aug. 7.

During the expedition, the Credit Agricole team together with the project organizers will visit leading dairy farms across Ukraine to showcase how the industry is evolving, what technologies producers are adopting, and how the economics of modern dairy farming are changing.

The expedition will focus on:

  • the economics of modern dairy farms;
  • automation and digitalisation of dairy production;
  • energy independence of dairy complexes;
  • the impact of European integration on the sector's development.

According to KWS-UKRAINE, feed remains the largest cost component for modern dairy farms, accounting for 50–70% of milk production costs.

"The corn silage harvesting season is now beginning. Corn silage is the foundation of every dairy farm in Ukraine, making it essential to focus not only on harvesting itself but also on the quality of every stage of the process," said Andrii Bilous, Feed Specialist at KWS-UKRAINE.

Bilous said Ukraine's dairy sector is transitioning to a new development model in which investment in automation, digitalisation and high-quality feed is becoming increasingly important.

Credit Agricole Bank believes the current challenges facing the dairy industry should be viewed as a period of transformation rather than a crisis, encouraging producers to rethink farm management practices.

"The current situation in the dairy business marks a new stage of development. A crisis is the best time to improve and grow. We have seen a significant increase in dairy cow productivity, while global trends are shifting the industry toward a model where profitability matters as much as production volumes," said Nataliia Porvina, Head of Agribusiness Support and ESG at Credit Agricole Bank.

According to Porvina, the expedition will pay particular attention to management decisions being made by dairy producers and to technologies that improve farm efficiency and strengthen their long-term competitiveness.
