Credit Agricole Bank invites to the 12-th annual «French cinema Soirées» festival

On 25 January 2017 the opening of the 12th annual film «French cinema Soirées» festival will take place. The festival will be held in major cities of Ukraine. Credit Agricole Bank is the official partner of the festival.

«French cinema Soirées» will start in Ukraine on 25 January. The collection of the best and new French movies will be traditionally presented by the Embassy of France in Ukraine, Institut francais d'Ukraine and «Arthouse Traffic» company. Credit Agricole Bank is the official partner of the festival, TM Kronenbourg 1664 is the official sponsor of the festival, Air France is the official airline. In Kyiv, movies will be shown in the original language with Ukrainian subtitles.

The festival is an excellent opportunity to join French cinema art. The program includes five movies starring Marion Cotillard, Louis Garrel, Audrey Tautou, Melanie Laurent and Berenice Bejo.

«French cinema Soirées» will open with «Mal de Pierre» («From the Land of the Moon») by Nicole Garcia – a sensual romance included in the competitive program of the Cannes Festival. Main characters were played by Marion Cotillard and Louis Garrel.

«The Eternity» movie by Tran Anh Hung, starring French actors Audrey Tautou, Melanie Laurent and Berenice Bejo, offers a panoramic view of the XX-th century through the lens of the destiny of a family. The excellence of visual representation was ensured by Lee Ping Bin - Cannes Festival award winner, the favorite cameraman of Wong Kar-Wai.
New work of Iranian director Asghar Farhadi «The Salesman» is a story of a couple of play-actors who have moved into a new apartment. The movie has recently been shortlisted for the Academy Award too. The premiere of the film took place in the Cannes Festival, and the film won Cannes Best Actor and Best Scenario awards.
«The Beautiful Days of Aranjuez» is a new film by Wim Wenders shot in the French language based on the same-name story by Peter Handke. The storyline focuses on a man and a woman talking on the terrace. There is a writer watching them; he is writing a book, but it’s not clear whether he is overhearing their talk or just imagining them. The premiere of the film took place at the Venice Film Festival. The film was shot in 3D format, and the filming took place in the villa of Sarah Bernard.

The animation part of «French cinema Soirées» is represented by «The Red Turtle» movie which is a co-production of France and Japan. This is a story of a shipwrecked man who found himself on an uninhabited tropic island. «The Red Turtle» was directed by Michaël Dudok de Wit, winner of the Academy Award, BAFTA and Cesar. The movie was produced by the famous Isao Takahata, co-founder of Studio Ghibli (together with Hayao Miyazaki).
