Credit Agricole Ukraine results in the third quarter and 9 months 2026

30 October 2026

Credit Agricole Ukraine continues to operate amid intensifying military pressure and rising risks, with damage to warehouses prompting businesses to adjust their logistics and supply chains. The economy continued to adapt, supported in particular by the flexibility and mobility of small and medium-sized enterprises. The Bank remained committed to supporting its clients and supporting Ukraine’s economy.

Larysa Bondarieva was appointed CEO of Crédit Agricole Ukraine effective 4 September 2026, succeeding Carlos de Cordoue. The appointment marked a new chapter for Crédit Agricole Ukraine, combining continuity in leadership with extensive experience and a deep understanding of the Bank’s clients and business.

“Our goal is to continue our growth and strengthen the bank’s position in Ukraine, drawing on the expertise and strength of the Crédit Agricole Group. We will continue to provide financing to businesses, develop new offerings, and invest in the bank’s future in Ukraine. At the same time, we remain fully committed to large-scale social initiatives and to supporting Ukrainian society. This is how we see our role: supporting the economy today and actively contributing to the country’s future reconstruction,” said Larysa Bondarieva, CEO of Crédit Agricole Ukraine.

Macroeconomic landscape

Ukraine’s economy remained constrained by war-related damage, rising costs and labor shortages, with economic growth remaining modest. September inflation reached 10.0% YoY, prompting the NBU to raise its policy rate to 16%. International reserves stood at USD 47.1 billion, covering four months of future imports.

Hryvnia lending remained strong, with corporate and household loans growing by 32% and 38% YoY, respectively. Banking sector net profit reached UAH 71.7 billion in January–August, down 33% YoY amid the 50% income tax rate.

Business development

We continue to develop our core business lines, focusing on our priority directions:

  • In the Automotive business, during the first 9 months of 2026, Credit Agricole Ukraine maintained its leadership position in car financing, exceeding UAH 4 billion in new loans, up 52% compared to the same period in 2025, and maintaining a Top 2 market ranking with a 27% market share
  • Bank continued to expand its Cash loan portfolio, with new loan production doubling year-on-year and increasing by 16% compared to Q2 2026. The Credit card portfolio grew by 60% compared to September 2025, supported by digital offerings in the CA+ app
  • Developing digital services for businesses, Bank introduced SWIFT GPI tracking in CORPEX, enabling corporate clients to monitor international payments, processing stages and fees, improving transparency and simplifying cross-border transactions
  • Supporting SME exports, together with the EBRD and with support from Switzerland, the Bank announced five practical training sessions to help MSME clients develop exports to the EU, covering export strategy, certification, sales, logistics and trade finance

Portfolios and solid regulatory positions

  • Year-to-date, the total loan portfolio grew by 17%, with notable growth across the Private individuals, Middle corporate and SME segments
  • Bank’s total deposit portfolio remained at a high level, growing by 6% compared to December 2025, supported by all business segments and reflecting continued client confidence in the Bank’s reliability
  • At the end of the third quarter of 2026, Bank has a strong capital position with Capital ratios at 22%, significantly exceeding regulatory minimums. Liquidity remains at a high level, both in hryvnia and in foreign currency (LCR at 526% and NSFR at 230% versus the 100% regulatory requirement)

Rewards and results recognition

  • Deposit reliability: Crédit Agricole Ukraine ranked first in Standard-Rating’s bank deposit reliability ranking, as announced on 27 August 2026
  • Bank resilience: Crédit Agricole Ukraine was named the leader in Minfin’s bank resilience study for the third consecutive time

Human Capital and Social Responsibility

Despite the challenges of wartime, Credit Agricole continues to implement social and educational initiatives aimed at developing human capital, supporting those affected by the war, and ensuring equal access to financial services.

  • Supporting veterans and promoting financial inclusion. In July, a series of workshops was held at Credit Agricole’s head office as part of an EBRD-supported project aimed at reintegrating veterans into Ukraine’s financial sector. Representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine, the EBRD, and Ukrainian banks worked together to develop practical recommendations for removing barriers that veterans face when accessing banking services.
  • Improving accessibility of banking services. In August, Credit Agricole introduced online sign language assistance. Customers with hearing impairments can now receive banking consultations via video calls with the assistance of a qualified sign language interpreter and a bank representative.
  • Social support for children and families. With financial support from the Crédit Agricole Group Foundation and in partnership with the Children of Heroes Charity Fund, the summer psychological recovery programs “Firefly” and “Strength Within You” were completed. More than 240 children and adults affected by the war participated in these programs. Participants received professional psychological support, while assessment results showed positive improvements in their emotional well-being.

Financial Performance

The financial results for 9 months of 2026 reflect revenue growth supported by commercial activity and continued attention to cost management:

  • Net Banking Income reached UAH 7.4 billion, up 13% YoY, supported by a recovery in commercial revenues and sustained income from sovereign exposures, underpinned by a strong funding base
  • Operating expenses reached UAH 2.6 billion (+16% YoY), driven by staff costs, IT and cybersecurity and utilities
  • Gross Operating Income stood at UAH 4.8 billion (+12% YoY), with operational efficiency remaining strong and a Cost-to-Income ratio of 35.5%
  • Cost of Risk amounted to UAH -383 million, reflecting loan portfolio growth and a prudent approach to provisioning for government bonds
  • Credit Agricole recorded Net profit of UAH 2.2 billion, with improved commercial performance partly offset by provisioning and higher tax expenses
