4,86 million hryvnia for the Heart Institute in Ukraine from Credit Agricole Group’s entity Agos

Italian based Agos, a Credit Agricole Group’s consumer finance company, supports the Heart Institute in Ukraine with the amount of 4,86 million hryvnia for purchasing vital medical equipment, including artificial lung ventilation machine and open resuscitation system. 

On June 18, 2025, the equipment was presented during the visit of Agos’ CFO Giorgio Sopranzi to the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine performs more than 6200 heart surgeries annually, including more than 800 interventions for children with congenital heart defects, among them - newborns and premature babies.

“Even in the war time, our team performs heart, kidney, liver, and organ transplants, including heart transplants for children - unique interventions that save children's lives. To make these crucial surgeries possible, high-tech equipment is needed. The new equipment will help to provide a quality treatment and postoperative care” Borys Todurov, Ukrainian cardiac surgeon, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Director of Heart Institute, says.

Every year, 3500 babies in Ukraine are born with congenital heart defects, and 800 of them do not survive. These children can be saved if they receive timely medical assistance and undergo surgery. Institute of Heart performs the largest number of heart transplants in Ukraine per year, including heart transplants for children.

Since the war in Ukraine broke out, Credit Agricole has demonstrated its active social stance, concentrating its efforts on supporting its customers, employees and society. Credit Agricole banks’ family donated over UAH 170 million to charity, primarily for purchasing medical equipment for the hospitals.
