There are 2,200 employees working at Credit Agricole Ukraine. These are people of different ages, with different experiences, stories, and career paths. Some joined the company young and grew into managers; others changed their area of expertise within the bank. Some members of the team regularly participate in corporate charity projects or balance work and volunteering activities, while others protect the country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, knowing that people here are awaiting their return.
In the partner text, Credit Agricole team explains how it manages to create a reliable, people-centered, and sustainable employer brand even in times of uncertainty.
Stability, support, and social responsibility
Credit Agricole is a universal bank with French roots and 140 years of history worldwide. It has been operating in Ukraine for 30 years and has a network of over 130 bank outlets across the country.
The support of the International Credit Agricole Group, which originates from France, is not only about financial indicators or ratings, but also about the responsibility culture both in times of stability and crisis.
We tell our employees, customers, and society: “You can always count on Credit Agricole.” This credo was formed during the COVID-19 pandemic and now works in the context of the full-scale war, when war-life balance is an integral part of the modern life of a Ukrainian, while supporting physical and mental health has become a priority for the employer.
We help our team maintain a sense of inner support and productivity amidst total stress and exhaustion. To this end, the bank has its own welfare program that consists of three key areas:
physical safety and health, including improved health insurance and wellness;
financial wellbeing, such as performance-based bonuses, additional payments under the collective agreement or by the decision of the HR Department;
mental health, including various types of psychological consultations.
Credit Agricole received “Health and Wellbeing” award at the HR Pro Awards 2025
From the improved insurance to a comfortable office
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the bank has allocated over UAH 200 million to support its employees. These funds went to improve health and life insurance program, help the employees in difficult circumstances, such as severe diseases or loss of home, support employees’ families, as well as mobilized people and veterans, encourage health improvement at the resort, and set up additional motivation systems.
The international Group is demonstrating unprecedented support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian colleagues: the Group set up a solidarity fund of EUR 10 million. Part of the money was allocated to supporting the team’s wellbeing, particularly those who lost their homes or had a decline in health due to war. Furthermore, Credit Agricole provided financial support to relatives of the employees who died or were injured during war.
Caring for physical health is one of the bank’s priorities: everyone at Credit Agricole is covered by the health and life insurance program. We constantly update the package according to the current challenges. For example, in 2024, the bank strengthened the area concerning critical illnesses and added coverage for accidents caused by war.
The insurance policy includes annual check-ups with tumor markers, diagnostics of the abdominal cavity and thyroid gland, ECG, and hormonal tests. These are not just technical changes in the insurance policy, but an answer to the requests of our employees regarding the things that are important today.
Flexibility is one of the approaches that is incorporated into every single process and our corporate culture. We attentively listen and improve the welfare program according to the requests.
In this way, for example, the bank has expanded the health improvement program at the resort in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. In response to positive feedback, the bank scaled it up, and in 2025, 207 employees – almost every tenth person on the team – benefited from this program. During the entire period, over 1,700 people went there to improve their health.
Moreover, to support work-life balance, we provide 24 calendar days of vacation + 4 additional days in accordance with the collective agreement. To support the employees’ mental health, Credit Agricole provides external individual and group counselling with psychologists, including families and children, as well as the possibility to consult a military psychologist.
We make sure that our employees choose the most comfortable format of work. If their job responsibilities allow it, employees can work in a hybrid format – at the office in the center of the capital or remotely. Incidentally, Credit Agricole’s head office is located in the center of Kyiv, two minutes from metro, with a special feature being the digital space located on the eighth floor with a terrace overlooking the city center. Today, this place is used for the external events, trainings, award ceremonies, team events, and informal meetings.
The company pays special attention to the employees’ children. Particularly, in partnership with regional banks of the international Group, Credit Agricole provides annual Back to School and Saint Nicolas Day payments. The bank also provides financial assistance after the birth of a child.
At Credit Agricole, employer’s reliability is simply being there for the employees and actively supporting them in any life circumstances.
How to learn and grow within the company
Credit Agricole is currently focusing on simplifying business processes and developing its team’s expertise. By doing so, the bank builds a strong talent pool, including for managerial roles, while retaining people who see their future with the company. For the team, this is an opportunity to grow both vertically and horizontally career-wise.
Credit Agricole received the “Best Corporate Education Programs” award in the “Best Employers in Ukraine 2024” research (“TOP 100. Ratings of the Largest” magazine and Delo.ua) and an award at the HR PRO AWARDS in the “Education and Development” category for its project “Career Trajectory – Learning and Growth”.
Credit Agricole’s uniqueness lies within the combination of financial and agricultural expertise. The bank systematically invests in the young talents, as well as the growth of employees working at the head office and bank outlets, thus building the ecosystem of education programs.
Agri School is an educational project that has been running from 2018 and is aimed at developing competences in agribusiness. The participants work with the real cases and visit the enterprises of the bank’s customers, among which are international, medium corporate, and small-sized businesses. It is an opportunity to experience a life of an agrarian: from sowing to harvesting, gaining this experience means becoming closer to the customers, understanding their needs, and being on the same wavelength. Over these 7 years, almost 100 employees took part in this program.
Managerial School is an education program that aims to expand the managerial competences and promote career growth. The participants of the program develop a strategic mindset, effective communication, change management skills, and leadership. The program is realized in partnership with business schools and by engaging the bank’s top managers. In 2025, Managerial School project, realized through partnership with “Krok” business school, was awarded silver in the “Leadership Development” category at the prestige international competition Excellence in Practice Awards 2025 by EFMD Global.
Proximity University is an internal university consisting of six faculties that develops professional competences of the network employees, stimulating their career growth and forming the employee reserve. In 2025, over 100 graduates took part in the program: during the education period, they developed customer-centric approaches, strategic planning, negotiation and presentation skills, managerial skills, stress management, etc. Moreover, 18 students received monetary certificates for further education. The program is flexibly adapted to individual needs, taking into the account current experience and career ambitions.
The bank also has Young Professionals program, a paid internship for students. For over 5 years, the project opens the doors into the profession for tens of young specialists.
Constant growth is one of the pillars of Credit Agricole’s corporate culture, which the bank realizes through various tools: education programs, online courses, mentorship, external education, English and French lessons, as well as corporate library that was launched last year.
Active cooperation with IT
Apart from traditional areas for the bank – agriculture and cars – we systematically work with the IT industry. For us, it is a conscious focus: we strive to stand with tech businesses. The events related not only to finances, but also leadership, technologies, and future are regularly held at the bank.
Among them is the series of CEO Talks in partnership with Diia.City.Union with top executives of the largest Ukrainian companies, as well as IT Meets together with Lviv IT Cluster. We talked about the role of women in forming technological future with the female participants, such as the Nobel Laureate, CEOs of IT companies, deputies of ministers, and experts from cybersecurity. In 2025, the bank became a general partner of a unique event Tech Unity: Clusters Forum, which for the first time brought together all IT clusters from all over Ukraine, gathering over 2,000 participants, 500 companies, and 80 speakers on one platform.
Credit Agricole also organizes separate events of a smaller scale, for example, Private Club with Diia.City.Union, for the founders and managers of businesses and IT companies. At the same time, the bank supports other communities: A2A Forum.Business for the graduates of Kyiv-Mohyla Business School and Automotive Day by Credit Agricole that united the whole ecosystem of automotive industry.
We Care! program: on charity and volunteering of the team
In 2026, it will be 10 years since the company launched its corporate social responsibility program, We Care!. Over the years, it has become a true ecosystem of care, in which every employee can be involved as much as they are ready and willing to be.
We Care! program consists of four areas:
charity;
volunteering;
caring for employees;
ecological initiatives.
The bank is a great example for the employees: since the start of the full-scale invasion, it has allocated UAH 190 million to charity, generally for purchase of the needed medical equipment. The bank’s team actively participates in Blood Donor Days and charity marathons, helps orphanages and hospitals, weaves camo nets, and fundraises money and assembles drones. In 2025, thanks to the employees, Credit Agricole managed to collect over 120 liters of blood, over 280 people joined the Blood Donor Days in different cities and towns of Ukraine, such as Kyiv, Poltava, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
However, the main goal is not the list of activities, but the logic behind them. The bank regularly conducts surveys among the team members, gathers feedback, and responds to actual requests of people.
Stories of our volunteers
At Credit Agricole, we believe that trust is key to sustainable initiatives that work not only on paper, but in real life. This philosophy is confirmed by the stories of different people.
Recently, two Credit Agricole employees received awards from Association of Ukrainian Banks for being the most active volunteers in the financial and banking sector.
Liudmyla Kysleiko, manager of Credit Agricole outlet in Vinnytsia, has been volunteering for over three years: providing drinking water to the military units, hospitals, oncology centers, and the Regional Children Rehabilitation Center, as well as systematically supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Mariia Hut, senior economist for banking operations accounting, participates in preparing lunches for the defenders and the most vulnerable groups of population, specifically displaced persons and elderly.
“This work is not always an easy one – both mentally and physically – yet it brings strength, inspires with so many sincere people around, and reminds that even the smallest help is very important. I don’t intend to stop because I believe that while I have the strength, I have to support people that need it the most. Thanks to the bank’s Management Board, I have the opportunity to take an additional time off for my volunteering. It is a very important support,” shares Mariia.
Why Credit Agricole is a place where people want to stay and grow
Credit Agricole’s success is a success of specific people and teams. For this reason, the bank has the acknowledgment program “Thanks to You”, in which the work results – be it individual or team – are recognized and financially rewarded. This way, Credit Agricole thanks everyone who inspires their colleagues with personal example, achieves high business results, and creates team synergy.
Credit Agricole is the employer that invests in people as seriously as it does in businesses. If stability, development, and genuine care are important to you, this is the place for you.
