Recently, one more group of children have gone to I, Da Vinci camp for psychological rehabilitation. Another group of 60 children who lost one or both parents in the war took the opportunity to rest in the picturesque Carpathians. It was made possible thanks to the financial aid from Credit Agricole Charity Foundation and efforts by Children of Heroes Charity Fund.
Losing parents is the kind of trauma that children cannot cope with on their own. We want the children who suffered such loss to have a chance at emotional recovery and the new outlook on life. This has been the objective of the charity initiative to help 120 children aged 6 to 16 nationwide. There is more to come, the camp is awaiting the third group of children!
“We believe that caring for children who lost their parents because of the war is our shared duty as a society. By supporting the project by Children of Heroes fund, we both help to organize a safe welcoming space for children and invest in their future – in their confidence, growth and belief in the good. When it comes to social responsibility, Credit Agricole Bank leads by example and takes action to support those who need it the most”, - comments Viktoriia Torianyk, Head of Brand and Communications Department of Credit Agricole.
The camp curriculum has been developed by the British experts and it is aimed at the emotional recovery of children who suffered the loss of their loved ones. It includes:
- individual and group therapy;
- art therapy;
- mindfulness;
- cinema therapy and group discussions;
- hikes and tours;
- team games, dance nights and themed events.
"The Fund is helping over 13 000 children who came to us with the war trauma after losing their loved ones. We know for sure that this camp with psychological component is the best thing we can give them. Thanks to Credit Agricole, 180 kids will be able to relax and rehabilitate in this camp. Two groups of children have already been here and we can see the positive effect it has had on them. We believe that the third group that is to come soon will be as heartwarming and significant. We deeply value our partnership and joint efforts for the sake of children who need it the most ", - shares Tetiana Novytska, CEO of Children of Heroes Charity Fund.
Experts working on the project create a safe space where the children can:
- get mental health help;
- learn emotional self-regulation skills;
- overcome fears and anxiety;
- improve socialization skills;
- find new friends and much needed support.
Together, we can help them face the hardest challenges and get back their hope for the better future!
