Traditionally, November is Diversity Month at Credit Agricole

12 November 2024

Every November, Credit Agricole together with the entire Group celebrates Diversity month. Throughout November, the bank promotes diversity among the staff by holding the awareness educational campaign that includes online events that all employees of the Group can participate in.

The diversity principle is asserted in the Equality Charter that Credit Agricole signed in 2020, and the inclusion principle – in the Charter for the Financial Inclusion and Reintegration of Veterans, signed this year.

What is there to know about the Charter for the Financial Inclusion and Reintegration of Veterans?

  • Credit Agricole became one of 28 banks that signed the Charter for the Financial Inclusion and Reintegration of Veterans from the National Bank of Ukraine and the EBRD.
  • The bank is committed to making financial services more accessible and inclusive for veterans, introducing an inclusive environment by adapting outlet and office space for veteran customers and employees.

Equality and inclusion are strategically important for the bank. Currently, 63 employees of the bank are in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including two women who volunteered. The bank secured all their jobs and allocated almost UAH 44.8 million to pay the average salary and additional benefits.

What is there to know about the Charter of Equality at Credit Agricole?

  • It guarantees equal rights and opportunities for all employees, regardless of gender, age, health status, race, skin colour, national or social background, language, religion, political affiliation, etc.
  • The document is constantly being reviewed and updated to meet the challenges of today and the European standards of the international Group.
  • Last year, it recorded the bank's commitment to conduct information, training and organisational activities to prevent and combat mobbing (harassment) in accordance with the new legislative requirements of Ukraine.

When promoting the corporate culture and addressing the contemporary challenges, Credit Agricole cares for the principle of inclusion and equal rights. Recently our “Diversity Strategy in the Wartime” project was awarded silver by the prestigious EBMA in London (Employer Brand Management Awards 2024).

Within the implementation of the diversity principle, the Diversity Community functions at Credit Agricole – it was created by volunteers in order to seek life-work balance together, support veterans and to dismantle ageist stereotypes.

«For nearly 5 years, the Equality Charter has been in place at Credit Agricole, which guarantees upholding equal rights within the team, values of inclusion, diversity and prevention of discrimination. We continuously develop and adapt it to address the challenges that Ukraine is facing at present. The bank has instituted the Diversity Community, which, among others, focuses on the issue of veterans, as 70% of employees of the bank are women, thus Credit Agricole emphasizes the support of our employees whose husbands and sons are serving in the armed forces», –comments Olena Urusova, HR Director at Credit Agricole.

The Bank also supports those in need: 63 employees serve in the Armed Forces with their jobs secure and salaries paid. True testament to gender equality is the fact that to date, 40% of top management positions at the bank is held by women.

At Credit Agricole, we also hold motherhood in high regard: 114 employees are currently on maternity leave.
