Over 16 million hryvnias from Credit Agricole to support regional hospitals

27 July 2023

Credit Agricole Group with the assistance of Credit Agricole Ukraine and “Tvoya Opora” charity fund donated state-of-the-art medical equipment worth over UAH 16,000,000 in total to four regional hospitals in Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv and Dnipro. All the equipment was purchased following the requests from medical institutions in order to cover their current needs to the maximum, in particular during surgeries.

“For 7 years now, the bank has been implementing charitable projects in Ukraine, helping hospitals is among our priorities. We do it in a systemic way, and since the war broke out, we even increased the number of initiatives and engaged the large-scale support of the international Group and its regional banks that demonstrate their unprecedented solidarity with Ukrainians. The Group has already allocated EUR 700 thousand to help Ukraine and those affected by the war. Purchase of modern medical equipment for regional hospitals is the most far-reaching initiative to date that we have jointly implemented”, - shares Stephane Fallick, Board Member at Credit Agricole Ukraine.

As part of the charitable initiative, Credit Agricole Group donated surgical, reanimation, breathing equipment and specialized hospital furniture. Khmelnytskyi Regional Hospital received an operating table, a portable ultrasound system, 4 patient monitors, 8 functional beds, Regional Medical Center of Family Health in Dnipro – electroneuromyography apparatus for the intensive care unit, Chernihiv Regional Hospital - high-frequency electrosurgical device, operating table, 7 medical aspirators, 12 functional beds, Vinnytsia M.I. Pyrohov Regional Clinical Hospital – anaesthesia device, 8 patient monitors, 5 syringe infusion pumps.

“Every new charitable project is substantial help for Ukraine. Now the We Care! program has gained momentum, we focus significant effort here as we are aware how beneficial these initiatives are and that they literally save lives of Ukrainians. Also, the bank’s internal volunteer movement is really powerful, when teams or individual employees implement their own good deeds and the bank joins in on the action if possible”, - Viktoriia Torianyk, Head of Brand and Communications Department.

Since the war broke out in Ukraine, Credit Agricole has taken an active social stance, implemented around 25 charitable initiatives and allocated UAH 26 million for various charity projects. Meanwhile, in order to support Ukraine in the wartime, the international Group allocated EUR 700 thousand, the regional banks of the Group – EUR 435 thousand.

“The issue of new medical equipment for regional hospitals is quite urgent, their workload has increased manifold with the start of the war. Among their patients there are severely wounded soldiers and civilians, who are often in need of surgical intervention and intensive care. We are grateful to Credit Agricole for their systemic approach in helping the healthcare workers and those affected by the war”, - comments Valeriia Tatarchuk, founder and CEO of “Tvoya Opora” charity fund.

Since 2016, the extensive corporate social responsibility program “We Care!” has been active in the bank. It encompasses three core activities: charity, environmental initiatives and care for employees.
