Case from Credit Agricole Bank: congratulations to the winners

07 June 2018

Credit Agricole Bank and CASERS held the first competition on solving a case among talented Ukrainian youth.

“Credit Agricole Bank pays special attention to cooperation with talented youth and highly appreciates the opportunity to become the first place of work for students. We are aware of the importance of bolstering hands-on training for young professionals in Ukraine. That is why we offered Ukrainian students to solve a case from Credit Agricole, which will help them to better master their profession and acquire the practical knowledge and skills necessary for the keen specialists in their area professionals,” – Jean-Paul Piotrowski, Chairman of the Management Board of Credit Agricole Bank, comments.

As a case study, students were developing a prototype of an internal portal (intranet) for the bank employees. Corporate portal is an internal site of the company through which internal corporate communications are carried out and the main resources of the bank are accessed by the employees. For large companies with a well-developed structure, the availability of a quality corporate portal is not just an option, but a real necessity. Within the framework of the task, the participants provided their solutions and ideas about how the modern internal portal of the European bank should look.

In total, over 300 students from all regions of Ukraine took up the case. In order to better familiarize participants with the work of the bank, 3 business tours in the outlets and head office of the bank were organized and attended by more than 50 people.
25 teams and individual participants sent their solutions and prototypes among which the board on part of the bank chose 11 finalist projects. Each finalist team personally defended their projects in front of the jury headed by the bank’s Board Members. 11 projects were shortlisted:

  • 3 teams took the first place, each receiving UAH 48 000;
  • 3 teams took the second place, each receiving UAH 24 000;
  • 5 teams took the third place and received diplomas and branded gifts from the bank.

The winners were personally congratulated by Jean-Paul Piotrowski, the Chairman of the Management Board, Galyna Zhukova, Board Member, Galyna Nechaeva, HR Director, and Boris Guitton, Head of Digital Business Development Department.
However, the main achievement of each student was invaluable experience in solving practical issues, the possibility to bring their ideas into life together with the bank’s team, as well as invitations for internships to various departments of Credit Agricole.

“Having analyzed the quality of the presented projects, as well as the high level of interest in this case among young people, I can definitely say that this project was a true success for all its participants, and this format of cooperation with students will be used in the future. On behalf of the bank, I want to thank our partners – the CASERS – for the perfect organization of this project, and all students – for their participation, effective solutions and really bold ideas”, - Galyna Nechaeva, HR Director of Credit Agricole Bank, comments.
