Credit Agricole signed an agreement with the EBRD and joined the “EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line” Program

21 April 2021

On 21 April, Credit Agricole signed the agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and joined the «EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line» Program, within which the bank will get a EUR 25 million loan for 4 years. The purpose of the borrowing is to support micro, small, and medium-sized businesses and to expand their access to leasing services.

According to the terms and conditions of the Program, Credit Agricole clients can get a grant (cashback) financed by the EU in the amount up to 15% of the financing, as well as a free consultancy support by EBRD advisors.

«Credit Agricole is the long-term and reliable partner of the EBRD and I embrace the new stage of our relations. By joining our efforts, we will support representatives of business and help them upgrade their machinery fleet, improve their competitiveness in the internal market, and expend their exporting opportunities. For that, Credit Agricole has an effective tool: financial leasing that becomes more and more popular among our clients. And now, thanks to the Program, leasing of the machinery becomes even more affordable and financially favorable!”, Carlos de Cordoue, the CEO of Credit Agricole Bank, noted.

The Program increases the capability of business to invest into upgrading of its technologies and equipment so that they meet the EU standards of product quality, workplace safety, and environment protection.

“Access to finance and technology is crucial for sustainable growth of Ukrainian private sector and MSMEs in particular. Leasing is an important alternative way of financing SMEs and we are pleased to increase our support to development of leasing solutions through strong and reliable financial sector partners such as Credit Agricole”, Alexander Pavlov, EBRD Associate Director, Deputy Head of Ukraine, Financial Institutions, said.

To approve the finance granting, the EBRD made a detailed assessment of Credit Agricole’s activity in terms of environmental and social sustainability. It is assumed that a part of finance will be implemented according to the EBRD approach to the Green Economy Transition (GET).

“Being a member of the international and socially responsible Group, we care about the environment and implement the Climate Strategy aimed at reduction of the carbon footprint and support of eco-technologies. Thus, we are very pleased not only to develop customers’ business as part of the Program, but also to facilitate the development of green economy in Ukraine. This program can become a driver of important changes for the business and for the society”, Larysa Bondarieva, the Deputy CEO of Credit Agricole Bank, noted.

Credit Agricole leases the machinery of reliable partners – leading manufacturers like JOHN DEERE, CLAAS, BERTHOUD, and their official dealers. The bank also offers the machinery of its partners – well-known companies POLETEHNIKA (agricultural machinery and equipment) and WINNER (cars and commercial vehicles).

To take part in the Program and to get a grant from the EBRD, which is financed by the EU, the client should choose the machinery from the catalogue or learn the information on its features and price from the seller (if the desired machinery is not presented on the website) and contact their personal manager at Credit Agricole, or send a request to leasing@credit-agricole.ua
