Credit Agricole signed Charter of Equality and ensured equal rights and opportunities to all employees

29 September 2020

Credit Agricole has developed and approved the Charter of Equality that ensures equal rights and opportunities to all employees. Thus, the bank undertakes to follow the values that include diversity and equality irrespective of gender, age, health, race, color, national or social origin, language, religion, political or other views, property or marital status. The Charter of Equality is of the high priority for the bank and is a part of the Mid-Term Development Plan of Credit Agricole.

For Credit Agricole, the principle of equality is one of the fundamental values that have been followed by the bank since the very beginning of its operation in the Ukrainian market, i.e., for more than 27 years. True evidence of gender equality is that the top-management is represented by 42% of women and 58% of men. Being governed by the principle of inclusiveness, the bank employs 111 people with disabilities. Credit Agricole is open to anyone who aims for professional development and is ready to work hard regardless of the age of the candidate. In the bank’s team, 8 employees aged under 20 years old and 76 employees who have reached the age of 60 years work together. The average age of a bank employee is 39 years old. Credit Agricole respects motherhood: 17 mothers with many children work for the bank while 249 female employees are on maternity leave. This is just a part of the statistics that confirms: Credit Agricole guarantees equal rights and opportunities for everyone.

For Credit Agricole Bank, following the principle of equality is the result of the long-term efforts started many years ago and fully supported by the Group. From now on, this principle is stated in the Charter of Equality – a document that we developed as part of the Group’s Mid-Term Development Plan 2022. Why is it so important for us? We believe that respecting and supporting human rights and nondiscrimination policy, the bank facilitates the development of the society, ensures bank’s resilience and sustainable growth, and improves its performance. The Charter of Equality is yet another evidence that you can always rely on Credit Agricole Bank!”, Olena Urusova, HR Director of Credit Agricole Bank, tells.

Credit Agricole is a flexible employer that offers comfortable working conditions to its teams, in particular, the possibility to work in the office or remotely for those who needs it.

“The Charter of Equality by Credit Agricole guarantees equal rights in the team, compliance with the values of inclusiveness, diversity, and nondiscrimination. In the course of its drafting, we were guided not only by the Ukrainian law and the international conventions on human rights, but also by the best practices used by the banks of Credit Agricole Group. Stating equal rights and opportunity in the Charter, we protect our employees and undertake a number of commitments as a mature and responsible employer”, Olha Peronkova, the Head of Methodology of Credit Agricole’s HR Department, comments.

The Charter of Equality of Credit Agricole Bank is based on the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men”, the Law of Ukraine “On Principles of Preventing and Combating Discrimination in Ukraine”, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention on Human Rights, the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life”, the UNO Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the International Framework Agreement of Credit Agricole S.A. with the International Federation of Trade Unions, and the Code of Conduct of PJSC CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK.
