Credit Agricole Brie Picardie together with Credit Agricole Ukraine purchased 21 generators for social institutions in Zhytomyr region

Credit Agricole Brie Picardie jointly with Credit Agricole Ukraine purchased 21 diesel generators worth nearly UAH 11,000,000 in total for 14 social institutions of Zhytomyr region: orphanages, psycho-neurological boarding schools and geriatric boarding houses. As of now, around 2000 people reside in these institutions. Thanks to their output power, the generators ranging from 20 to 90 kW are able to provide these institutions with lighting as well as heating and food block operation during the rolling blackouts. Credit Agricole Brie Picardie is a regional bank of Credit Agricole Group with headquarters in the city of Amiens in France. This large-scale project was coordinated by Florian Garnier, General Director of Champs Elysées Ltd, the French company, and implemented in less than a month by “Your Support” charity foundation.

“Now the entire world feels sympathy towards every Ukrainian, forced to endure the atrocities of the war. At Crédit Agricole Brie Picardie, similarly to other organizations, people are aware that mere sympathy is not enough, the tangible actions are needed. Therefore, we decided to help the most vulnerable categories: children, the elderly, people with disabilities. Thanks to Florian Garnier and Carlos de Cordoue we were able to implement this major project in a very limited time frame. From now on, all these institutions will benefit from heating and lighting, and the people will not suffer from the cold and the dark anymore”, says Thierry Rogé, Director of Transformation and Innovation at Credit Agricole Brie Picardie.

13 generators are now working in social institutions of Zhytomyr region and are helping to endure the hours of power outages. By mid-February, 8 more generators will be supplied for additional needs of these institutions.

“Credit Agricole is a reliable partner of our foundation and together we implement great projects for the common good. This time, we were able to accomplish this good initiative at a remarkable speed. The idea emerged in mid-November, and as early as in December the generators were installed in the social institutions. Such prompt response to challenges is of essence nowadays. As the consequences of war wait for no one, they cause destruction and affect people’s health at once. Thanks to the generators, residents of the social institutions will be warm and have lighting even in the darkest of times” shares Valeriia Tatarchuk, Head of “Your Support” charity foundation.

The most powerful 90 kW generator was delivered to Radomyshl Psycho-neurological Boarding School, where this project was presented.

“In the wartime, new challenges arise that we have to face. Problem with access to electric power is one of them. While the businesses find ways adapt, social institutions need our assistance. That is why we created this joint project with one of the Group’s banks. We are immensely grateful for this cooperation and support extended to Ukraine. Our bank on its own has allocated nearly UAH 21 million for charity, helping those affected by the war and hospitals in these 9 months. Now we are planning to expand our charity efforts involving even more banks of the Group”, shares Carlos de Cordoue, Chairman of the Management Board of Credit Agricole Ukraine.
