UAH 7,100,000 on resuscitation vehicle for children’s hospital in Dnipropetrovsk region

16 June 2023

Group Credit Agricole S. A. with the assistance of Credit Agricole Ukraine and charity foundation “Tvoya Opora” purchased resuscitation vehicle Volkswagen Crafter worth UAH 7,140,000 for the Regional Medical Center of Family Health of Dnipropetrovsk regional council. The new ambulance is universal and will enable transportation of new-borns and children up to 18 years old. The resuscitation vehicle also has state-of-the-art professional equipment to administer high quality medical aid during transportation: syringe infusion pump, defibrillator, portable ALV apparatus, suction device (aspirator), pulse oximeter, receiving device, transport incubator, packing bag, stretcher.

“Each donated or purchased ambulance improves the chance of saving lives of Ukrainians. As of now, in the conditions of war, 103 vehicles have been damaged, 251 – destroyed, 125 – seized, – says Mariia Karchevych, Deputy Minister for digital development, digital transformation and digitalization of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. – As for their distribution, it is obvious that the regions next to the frontline take precedence, as they receive patients from the neighbouring regions with the ongoing hostilities or environmental disaster that was unleashed on Kherson region. That is why we are very grateful for replenishing the fleet of our ambulances.”

Today, Regional Medical Center of Family Health in Dnipro receives patients from Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. These are new-born and premature babies, as well as children in serious condition who are hospitalized after detonation on mines, injuries from missiles and other explosive devices.

“The issue of the new resuscitation vehicle was becoming increasingly urgent. For today, in the time when the number of our little patients has tripled, our hospital’s paramedic team is forced to use a vehicle that is over a decade old. It is used not just to bring new-borns from Dnipropetrovsk region to our hospital, but also to transport the injured children from two more regions. Also, our team of paramedics uses the vehicle to meet evacuation groups from Donetsk and Luhansk regions. With the new vehicle we will be able to deliver medical aid to children faster and more efficiently. We strongly believe that it will enable us to save even more lives”, - shares Oleksii Vlasov, chief doctor of the Regional Medical Center of Family Health of Dnipropetrovsk regional council.

The Regional Medical Center of Family Health in Dnipro is the sole hospital in the region that treats premature, new-born and injured children.

“Today we together with the international Credit Agricole community stand united more than ever before. In particular, Credit Agricole and a number of regional banks keep supporting our charitable initiatives, colleagues, customers and society as a whole. Since the start of the war, our colleagues from abroad allocated about UAH 29 million to help Ukraine. They send humanitarian aid, purchase power generators, medical equipment, medication and keep donating. And we are confident that this support will keep growing”, - Carlos de Cordoue, Chairman of the Management Board at Credit Agricole Ukraine.

During the war, Credit Agricole Ukraine allocated nearly UAH 24 million for various charity projects primarily for the purchase of medical equipment for hospitals with the assistance of the charity foundation Tvoya Opora.

“Since the very beginning, the core concept of the foundation has been to serve as a bridge between benefactors and those in need. During the time of war, together with Credit Agricole we implemented over 20 charitable projects. Purchase of the resuscitation vehicle is among the most significant ones that will surely result in saving many lives” - remarks Valeria Tatarchuk, founder and general director of the Charitable Fund “Tvoya Opora”

Since 2016, the bank has adopted the powerful corporate social responsibility programme “We Care!”. It encompasses three key areas: charity, environmental initiatives and care for employees.
