The first grade of “Agri school” project is completed

18 April 2019

Studying of the first grade of the “Agri school” project is completed in Credit Agricole. The graduation ceremony took place in the early April in Kyiv.

“Agri school” became an innovative project in the market. It allows our employees to deepen their knowledge of agro-technologies and agro-production process, to feel practical realities of agrarian business and the work of farmers. During the education process, agro-experts of the bank and leading agrarian companies shared their unique knowledge and gained experience with project participants. We have just delivered diplomas to our graduates and in a week, the second grade starts. But we are not going to rest on our laurels; we aim to expand the project and to engage clients and employees from other entities of Credit Agricole Group. We believe that the knowledge of our employees means added value for our customers and partners, and the expertise is one of the bank’s strengths”, Larysa Bondarieva, Deputy CEO in charge of Corporate, SME and Agri-Agro of Credit Agricole Bank, comments.

The “Agri school” is an educational project aimed to expand expertise and deepen the knowledge of bank professionals in agribusiness area. The project covered all regions and units of the bank. The school started in July 2018.

Among the speakers of the “Agri school” there were agro-experts and agro-analysts of the bank as well as the management of leading agricultural companies and reputable agro-market experts.

“The idea behind the “Agri school” was to teach bank employees to think as agrarians, to plan as agrarians, and analyze as agrarians. We created an effective concept of training and agricultural knowledge improvement. Students of the “Agri school” not only received a strong theoretical base, but could also see practical aspects of agricultural enterprises operation, and feel themselves a part of the production process”, Natalia Porvina, Head of Agribusiness Support department of Credit Agricole Bank, comments.

The training course consisted of six modules, each of which lasted for three days and included theoretical and practical cases.

Module topics:

  • Sowing campaign and main inputs
  • Technology of core crops cultivation
  • Harvesting, sale of agricultural products, trading and logistics issues
  • Animal breeding and biosafety
  • Agricultural processing
  • Agro-analysis and review.

As part of the education, the students visited agro-producing and agro-processing enterprises, agricultural services and machinery suppliers, and trading companies.

The “Agri school” allowed the students to see the process of agro-production and to join it: to assess crop vegetation conditions, to estimate potential yield, to drive agricultural machines, etc.
