Credit Agricole among TOP 25 leaders of sustainable development

27 April 2021

On 22 April, a Sustainable Development Summit in the framework of which the winners of the sustainability rating were awarded took place in Kyiv. Credit Agricole was recognized among 25 leaders of the rating thanks to its CSR program “We Care!. The program has been implemented by the bank for 5 years now and is focused on charity, green initiatives, corporate volunteering, and caring about employees. The rating was organized by the business magazine “TOP-100. Ratings of the Biggest”, media bureau Ekonomika+ in partnership with the UN Global Compact in Ukraine and the Association of Sustainable Development Leaders of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP).

We develop our business following the sustainability principles since we feel responsible for the world around us. We believe that the companies like ours should play its role and support the society. As a representative of the international socially conscious Group, we aim to implement the best global practices of corporate social responsibility in Ukraine and to inspire others by our example. We want to be trendsetters in this area”, Stephane Fallick, the Board Member of Credit Agricole Bank, comments.

In 2020, Credit Agricole implemented the biggest charity project in its history: it allocated UAH 11.2 million for purchase of medical equipment that helps the country fight COVID-19. The bank cares about the environment and implements climate strategy, keeps regular eco audits, uses energy efficient technologies, and equips “green” offices. In 2020, the bank reduced its carbon footprint by 20%. People is the biggest value and potential of Credit Agricole. Despite the market turmoil, the bank fully preserved its team, performed all social guarantees, and facilitated the development of corporate culture by signing the Charter of Equality.

Being a socially responsible business, we aim not just to develop, but to do it in an efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly manner. Therefore, the bank makes systemic investments into wide-scale projects while fostering its corporate culture: the team of the bank implements charity initiatives on its own, raises funds for charitable campaigns, helps orphanages, and our Blood Donor Days became the most long-term and, possibly, the most valuable project of the bank. We do hope to keep increasing the scope of good deeds together with the whole team”, Viktoriia Torianyk, Head of PR and Corporate Communications of Credit Agricole Bank, comments.

Credit Agricole has been implementing a wide-scale corporate social responsibility program «We Care!» since 2016 focusing on charity, corporate volunteering, environmental initiatives, and caring about employees.
