Credit Agricole is a traditional partner of the ukrainian fields crop tour Agro Expedition Sowing campaign 2024

23 July 2024

Credit Agricole has traditionally acted as a partner of the 11th Ukrainian fields crop tour AgroExpedition Sowing Campaign 2024 by Latifundist Media. From July 29 to August 4, the team will visit all regions of Ukraine. As part of the "AgroExpeditions 2024" project, the work of farmers during the war will be shown: how they harvest crops, prepare for autumn sowing campaign, and how they deal with the challenges of this season.

"Agroexpedition is one of the projects through which we create additional value for our customers and agribusiness as a whole. For several years in a row, during the period of active work in the fields and preparation for sowing, we, together with Latifundist Media, visit a number of farms in different parts of Ukraine. This helps us to better understand the specifics and features of agricultural business, to speak with agrarian customers the same language, and to develop our products and services in response to new market challenges. Credit Agricole supports agribusiness in Ukraine and farmers reciprocate: about 80% of customers stay with us for more than 5 years, and almost half - for more than 10 years!", comments Nataliia Porvina, Head of Agro Business Support and ESG Department at Credit Agricole Bank.

The year 2024 has been marked by extreme heat, in some places the soil temperature reached 64-71°C, which could negatively affect the harvest. Thus, one of the main questions for now is whether farmers will be able to harvest the late crops according to the plan. Together with our partners, we will look for answers to key questions directly in the fields.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, a total of 2,781.25 thousand hectares of grain and oil crops have been threshed, and 9.5 million tons of new crops have been produced, namely:

  • 1,508.9 thousand ha of wheat were threshed, 5.7 million tons were produced;
  • 642.3 thousand ha of barley were threshed, 2.4 million tons were produced;
  • 127.3 thousand ha of peas were threshed, 260.9 thousand tons were produced;
  • 499.6 thousand ha of rapeseed were threshed, 1,085.2 thousand tons were produced;
  • 0.2 thousand ha of soybeans were threshed, 0.3 thousand tons were produced.

Keep an eye on the exciting journey showing this year's sowing campaign!
