Credit Agricole has signed the Charter on Financial Inclusion and Reintegration of Veterans

24 April 2024

Credit Agricole has signed the Charter on Financial Inclusion and Reintegration of Veterans, initiated by the National Bank of Ukraine and EBRD. CAU contributes to the sustainable and inclusive development of society and will provide comprehensive support to war veterans in their re-socialization, including workplace adaptation.

"We are an anthropocentric bank and equality, as well as inclusion, are strategically important to us. Currently, 60 of our employees serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including two women who joined the army voluntarily. The bank has kept their positions and allocated almost UAH 34 million to pay the average salary and additional payments. We will expand and adapt our support for veterans to the reality of life. We believe that the joint efforts of all companies under the auspices of the NBU will be an effective tool for the reintegration of veterans into civilian life," commented Carlos De Cordoue, Chairman of the Board at Credit Agricole.

Credit Agricole is an employer with a flexible approach that offers comfortable working conditions and supports those who need it. For 4 years, our bank has been adopting standards set out in the Charter of Equality, which guarantees equal rights and opportunities for all bank employees, regardless of gender, age, state of health, etc.

"As of today, three of our employees have already returned from the frontline, we work with them individually to reintegrate into the team and civilian life. The demand for veterans support programs is growing, so we are actively developing our own policy in this realm, in particular, we have organized the Diversity Community with one of the vectors focused on the veterans issue. It is essential to understand that there are many women working in the bank, that is why it is important for us to support the military families, especially wives and mothers. We organize meetings and communication groups for them, so they can share their experience and get assistance. This is not an easy task, but we believe that gradually, with joint efforts, we will succeed to work out effective mechanisms for the veterans reintegration into society and working environment in particular," said Olena Urusova, HR Director at Credit Agricole.

As part of the bank's Diversity Community, meetings are held to improve the process of veterans reintegration and to support families whose relatives serve in the military.
