Within the framework of Diversity Month, Credit Agricole has updated and approved its revised Charter of Equality in order to meet today’s challenges and the European standards of the international group. The updated version of the Charter was signed by Carlos de Cordoue, CEO of Credit Agricole, and Olena Urusova, HR Director.
This document guarantees equal rights and opportunities for all employees of the Bank, irrespective of gender, age, health, race, color, national or social origin, language, religion, political or other opinion, property, marital or other status. The Charter of Equality has been in force at the Bank since 2020.
“For Credit Agricole, equality is one of the fundamental principles to which the bank has adhered since the beginning of its operations in the Ukrainian market, that is, for more than 30 years. We are a people-centric bank, and equality and inclusion are strategic for us as they help us unleash the talents of our employees, meet the challenges of today and prepare the bank for the future,” said Carlos de Cordoue, CEO of Credit Agricole.
Credit Agricole Group’s Diversity Policy has 5 dimensions: openness and curiosity, representation, equal opportunities, solidarity and responsibility.
“We have always had a clear position on equality: every employee is important and valuable and has equal rights and opportunities. The Charter is our roadmap for moving in this direction. A clear indication of gender equality is that women hold more than 50% of the Bank’s management positions, such as department heads, managers of outlets, etc. This is one of the objectives of our gender equality policy. Today, we have two other important tasks: supporting women returning from maternity leave and recruiting veterans. We work actively in both directions and will continue to focus on them in the coming year as well,” says Olena Urusova, HR Director at Credit Agricole Bank.
As part of the updated Charter of Equality, the Bank also commits to conducting information, training and organizational activities to prevent and combat mobbing (harassment) in accordance with new Ukrainian legislation.
The Credit Agricole’s Charter of Equality is based on the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men”, the Law of Ukraine “On Principles of Preventing and Combating Discrimination in Ukraine”, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Convention on Human Rights, the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the International framework agreement of Credit Agricole S.A. with the International Federation of Trade Unions, the Diversity Policy of the Credit Agricole Group, and the Code of Conduct of JSC “CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK”.
