Credit Agricole and partners presents the infographic report "Agribusiness of Ukraine" for 2022-2023

01 February 2024

Today we present the annual infographic report "Agribusiness of Ukraine" for 2022-2023, in which Credit Agricole together with partners analyzed how the war affected the key indicators of the agrarian sector and what trends are observed in the second year of the full-scale war. The bank is a strategic partner of agribusiness and has been actively involved in the Ukrainian agricultural sector development for almost three decades.

"For almost 10 years, we have had a good tradition - together with our partners, we prepare an infographic repost for agribusiness, in which we share our expertise and market analysis. Despite the war, there are signs of recovery in the agricultural sector. This became possible thanks to the resilience of business and Ukrainians. The stories of agricultural companies that develop their business even in the frontline zones inspire us to improve even more to be the best partner for agribusiness. We continue to support our clients, finance the industry and share expertise," comments Nataliia Porvina, Head of Agro Business Support and ESG Department at Credit Agricole Bank.

You can get the electronic copy of the report from your personal manager at Credit Agricole Bank or at the link. It will be of use to anyone working in agribusiness and the adjacent industries. This issue of "Agribusiness of Ukraine" report contains 46 pages of infographics, grouped by areas: agribusiness in 2022-23, crop production, animal husbandry, processing industry, infrastructure and services, in particular financial, as well as a new section - sustainable agriculture. All information and statistics are presented in the format of clear and bright infographics.

"For the tenth year in a row, we show the results and trends of the agricultural market in a simple and understandable form of infographics. Every time it seems that the year was difficult. In the last two years, despite extremely difficult working conditions - rockets, mined fields, price collapses, blocked export routes - farmers have shown resilience. This is exactly what we reflected in this year's report, because the agro-industrial complex remains one of the main branches of Ukraine's economy, which accounts for more than half of the export of goods," comments Aliona Diachenko, project manager and head of analytics at Latifundist Media.

The infographics report was created thanks to the joint efforts of agro-media holding Latifundist Media and the content marketing agency Top Lead with the support of Credit Agricole Bank, EFSE Development Facility and financial assistance of the European Union within the framework of the EU4Business initiative. Views expressed in the publication in no way can be considered as reflecting the official position of the European Union.

Andrea Hagmann, the EFSE DF Chairperson said, “The EFSE Development Facility is proud to contribute to the development of the Agribusiness of Ukraine infographic guide for the second consecutive year, in partnership with Credit Agricole Bank in Ukraine. Together we have worked towards increasing awareness on improving business operations and enhancing resilience for small and medium sized businesses, especially in the agricultural sector, which have been severely affected by Russia’s war of aggression. In alignment with our partners, EFSE Development Facility strives to promote the financing of sustainable agricultural practices and spread information on latest developments, conditions, and trends in the market.”

"Agribusiness will never be the same, it is going through a transformation. This need is caused by war, climate change, rising costs and falling yields of staple crops. Those who optimize processes and increase efficiency, find new sales channels, and invest in processing will remain on the market. In the 10th edition of the report, in addition to the traditional overview of the industry, we analyze the reasons that cause the need for transformation and new opportunities for growth: bioenergy and technologies of sustainable agriculture", - Stanislav Shum, CEO of Top Lead.
