Credit Agricole Bank became a financial partner to the IQ Energy Program by the EBRD

On 30 November 2017 Credit Agricole Bank joined IQ Energy, an international program supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development that is aimed to improve energy efficiency in the residential segment. In terms of cooperation, the bank is able to issue loans in total amount of 1 mln euro. Under the program, customers may get a loan for purchase of energy-efficient equipment, related products and installation works. The program become effective from January 2018.

It is logical and essential step for Credit Agricole Ukraine to join IQ Energy program managed by EBRD and sponsored by respected international partners. “Green” financing is a reflection of core values for CA Group and Credit Agricole Ukraine – to support sustainable development of economy in the countries of operation. It is even more so for the bank belonging to the Group headquartered in Paris, a city where “Paris climate accord” global agreement on reduction of CO2 emission was signed. The bank has already worked its way to decrease footprint and adjust operations to high ecological standards. IQ Energy program allows Credit Agricole Ukraine to add “green” features into its mainstream business, financing private individuals - Jean-Paul Piotrowski, CEO of Credit Agricole Bank, commented.

Within the framework of cooperation, the customers of the bank will be able to get a cash loan of up to 300 000 UAH for investments into energy-efficient projects and obtain a compensation of up to 3 000 EUR, which is credited to a foreign-currency account opened with Credit Agricole Bank. The catalogue of materials and equipment that can be purchased with the grant includes over 5000 items. The Program will be effective till 10 September 2020.

To receive a grant for improving your household energy efficiency, you need to:

  • 1. Apply for and receive a cash loan at Credit Agricole Bank
  • 2. Use these funds for purchase and installation of energy-efficient equipment from the IQ Energy Technology catalogue
  • 3. Register and file an application for compensation at www.iqenergy.org.ua
  • 4. Get the compensation credited to your account in Euro

The Program has been developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, is funded by the Е5Р Partnership, and supported by the European Union, Sweden and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance. The aim of the program is to increase energy efficiency of the residential sector in Ukraine. The overall amount of compensation for heat insulation of housing reaches 15 million Euro.

IQ Energy program was launched in Ukraine in April 2016. Since then nearly 320 million hryvnia (12 million USD) have been provided to Ukrainian households for heat modernization.

The EBRD is the largest international financial investor in Ukraine. Since the beginning of its activity in Ukraine in 1993, the bank has funded 383 projects for nearly 11.6 billion Euro.
