11-14 October the V Festival of Innovative Projects “Sikorsky Challenge 2016” was conducted in Ukraine. Credit Agricole Bank supported the event as a partner.
The festival that was held for the fifth time by the initiative of the National technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Ihor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute” and the Scientific Park “Kyiv Politechnika” is aimed at attraction of youth, scientists and entrepreneurs to innovative development of economy and society in Ukraine.
Credit Agricole Bank’s representatives were invited to participate in the independent jury of two competitions in the framework of the Festival – All-Ukrainian startup competition “Sikorsky Challenge 2016” and the competition “Intel-Techno Ukraine 2016-2017”. Additionally, five projects that became the winners in the special nomination from Credit Agricole Bank were selected in each competition. Support of the festival of innovative projects “Sikorsky Challenge” fully meets Credit Agricole Bank strategy oriented to implementation of innovative services to satisfy the needs of our customers and provide them with the highest level of service.
At the closing ceremony of the festival on 14 October 2016 on behalf of Credit Agricole Bank the winners of competitions were greeted by Vladyslav Berezhnyi, the director of correspondent relations and structural finance: “Each civilized country is aimed to create the foundation for its future development: promising economic clusters are stimulated, innovations in IT and infrastructure are financed. In Ukraine promising ideas are mainly supported by private initiatives. We are pleased to know that our bank joined this movement having supported the competition of school and student innovations Sikorsky Challenge".
The head of digital business area Ihor Skudnov noted: “I am not concerned about our future as it is in safe hands of talented youth that tries to resolve the problems of Ukraine and the whole humankind with its inventions!”
The Festival lasted for four days from 11 through 14 October 2016. In total, the participants of both competitions presented almost 300 developments in various fields.
Out of 150 submitted projects 60 projects in the areas of information and computer technologies, machine building and instrument engineering were shortlisted. This year agrarian startups were presented in the competition for the first time.
The competition “Intel-Techno Ukraine 2016-2017” is the national stage of the International Science and Engineering Competition for school pupils and is held with support of the US Embassy in Ukraine. The pupils compete in several categories and the best of the super-finalists will represent Ukraine in May 2017 at the World Final of “Intel ISEF” in Los Angeles. As members of the independent jury, representatives of Credit Agricole Bank assessed competition works in three categories: engineering, robotic technology and intellectual machines, computer science.
