«Tree for a Car Loan» - a new “green” initiative of Credit Agricole Bank

03 November 2016

On 29 October 2016, employees of Credit Agricole Bank planted 50 spruces in Taras Shevchenko park in Kyiv in the frames of the new project of the Bank – “green” initiative “Tree for a Car Loan”.

Credit Agricole Bank is the leading bank in the area of car loans. One in two car loans is executed in Credit Agricole. Being a socially and eco-conscious bank, we are aware of our responsibility for the increase in the number of cars on Ukrainian roads and are committed to protect the environment. The idea of project «Tree for a Car Loan» consists in the commitment to plant tree on behalf of Credit Agricole Bank’s clients who received a car loan in the bank. All clients, on whose behalf trees are planted, will receive information letters. Such clients are selected at random.

«The volume of car loan sales, which grew up to 63% yoy over 9 months of 2016 is the evidence of the high level of trust on behalf of our clients. However, as the leader of Ukrainian auto lending market, we tend not only to meet customer needs by offering them the best lending terms and the highest level of service. It’s a comfort to know that by launching such initiatives we join other socially and ecologically conscious Ukrainian companies», - Galyna Zhukova, Board Member of Credit Agricole Bank responsible for Retail, Network and Digital, noted.

Strongly supported by the employees, the idea originated with Yuriy Dziuba, manager of Internal Audit Department of Credit Agricole Bank. He believes that such initiatives result in a meaningful and a long-term investment in our future as well as in the world where our children will live.

The initiative was also supported by the employees of Public Service Association “Kyivzelenbud” and public planting service of Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv.

Mykhailo Nakonechnyi, general manager of   Kyivzelenbud, who assisted the team of Credit Agricole Bank in planting the spruces, mentioned: «The more and more socially responsible companies take part in landscaping improvement. The green fence that we planted today will not only improve historical landscape, but will also promote the retention of fresh air inside the park, because these plants are meant to stop dust and emissions».

Support of various “green” initiatives is an important component of the global strategy Credit Agricole Ukraine of social corporate responsibility “We Care!” The tree planting campaign took place in Kyiv for the first time, however Credit Agricole plans to develop this green initiative and hold such events on a regular basis. We would like to send our gratitude to the partners of the Bank who already express their interest in the project.
