Credit Agricole one of the most robust banks worldwide

The Banker has just released its annual ranking of the top thousand banks worldwide; this ranking is often used in requests for proposal for international transactions as well as in wealth management. Like last year, the Crédit Agricole Group is in 2nd position for Europe and 11th worldwide for Tier 1 capital, which means the most robust in respect of shareholders' equity. This indicator measures the ability of financial institutions to absorb extraordinary losses and to resist during crisis times. Worldwide, four Chinese banks, four American banks and one Japanese bank hold the top spots. HSBC, the top European bank is in 10th position.
